Heaven gained another angel on Friday, November 9th 2012. Peggy Lurae (Short) Zitzow passed into eternal life, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Peggy was born May 1st, 1950 to Roger Short and Genevieve (Lura) Short. She was the second of three brothers and five sisters. She was the family matriarch and nurturer. She graduated from Pelican Rapids high school in 1968. She then went on to receive her degree as a licensed practical nurse from Detroit Lakes technical college, where she was the valedictorian of her class.
On September 23rd, 1978 she was united in marriage to Allen Zitzow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They made their first home in Moorhead, where they welcomed their daughters Alison and Robin.
In 1986 they moved to Argusville, ND where they renovated the “blue house” and raised their three girls until graduation. After 17 years they moved to Vergas, MN and built her dream home. There they enjoyed simple country living until her passing.
Peggy always put others first, taking care of her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was proud to be a breast cancer survivor and was able to spend an extra eleven years on this earth, touching the lives of many.
