Pearl (Pearlie) Hazelton of Fargo passed away in her home on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
Pearl was born on January 31, 1922, the daughter of Enos and Nora (Mayfield) Allen in Ottertail County, Frazee, Minnesota. She was raised and attended school in the Frazee, Minnesota area.
On October 27, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Berger who was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After Raymond returned from military service they made their home in the Frazee area. Their family consisted of two sons; Gary and Lloyd and one daughter Sharon.
After the loss of her husband; Pearl moved to Fargo where she was employed for many years at the Fargo Laundry. At this time she met the second love of her life Donald Schwanke. After her retirement from Fargo Laundry she turned her love of sewing into a profitable business where she sold her handmade crafts to numerous craft stores in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana.
She is survived by her much loved companion Donald Schwanke, Two sons; Gary Berger of Rural Frazee, Minnesota, Lloyd Berger of Arizona; grandchildren Christopher Berger, Jason (Suzy) Berger Great-Grandchildren Cora and Eli; and Timothy Berger and Daughter Sharon and son-in-law Darwin Krabbenhoft of Watford City ND; Grandson Shawn (Cory) Krabbenhoft and Great-Grandchildren Samantha , Jonathan, Tyler and Jordan; Granddaughter Kela (Kyle) Hartel and Great-Grandchildren Kalen, Kordae and Kason; Grandson Garland (Heather) Krabbenhoft and Great-Grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Ethan and Sydney. Pearl is also survived by her sister Dorothy Duel and her companion’s sons Kenny (Linda) Schwanke and children Mike, Jenna , KrissAnn and Jeffrey; Gary Schwanke and children Jason, Josh and Kristy; Donald (Chris) Schwankee and children Lindsay, Brett and Gina and David’s children Chad, Nicole, Mindi, Dawson and Gabrielle.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents Enos and Nora Allen; husband Raymond Berger and David Schwanke.
Funeral: Monday, October 8, 2012, 10:00 AM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to services at Hanson-Runsvold.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
