Paul Torgeson

Paul Torgeson, 89, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo. Paul Arthur Torgeson was born July 3, 1919, in Grafton, North Dakota, son of Arthur W. and Jeanette (Johnson) Torgeson. Paul graduated from Grafton High School in 1937. Paul married Alice M. Murie June 20, 1948, in Langdon, ND. Paul worked in the Ford dealership in Grafton as the parts manager until purchasing the John Deere dealership with a partner. In 1976, Paul went to work for Tom Nermyr of Tollefson Funeral Home in Grafton. Paul moved to Fargo in 1992. Paul was past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past Illustrious Grand Master of the Council, past Master of Crescent Lodge #11, past Grand Commander York Rite, a member of Scottish Rite, and a member of the Daylight Lodge. Paul is survived by his wife, Alice, Fargo; a son, Paul “Pat” Torgeson, Fargo, ND; three daughters, Paulette (Bruce) Burke, Brainerd, MN; Kathryn (Terry) Brower, Pocatello, ID; Jane Torgeson (Peter Doane), St. Cloud, MN; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Cynthia Sillers. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice. Funeral: Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:30AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Masonic Service: Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 7PM at Hanson Runsvold. Burial: Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
