Paul D. Teichmann went to be with the Lord and his family on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Paul was born on August 25, 1931 to Mabel (Raush) and Samuel Teichmann of Fargo. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his three sisters: Marian Teichmann, Wanda Teichmann, June (Robert) Cook, and brother, Warren (Gloria) Teichmann. He is survived by three nieces, two nephews, seven great nieces, one great nephew, 6 great great-nieces, 5 great great nephews, 2 great great great nieces, and 2 great great great nephews, He is also survived by his Healthcare partners who became part of his extended family.

Paul attended the old Jefferson, then Agassiz, and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1952. He entered the Army Nov. 3, 1952, and served in the 40th Division Field Artillery in Korea. He received an honorable discharge Sept. 1954, and then returned to Fargo.

Paul worked odd jobs until he found a position at NDSU Memorial Union. He was a bowling pin setter for the bowling alley but later moved into the maintenance division of the Union. He worked at NDSU over 30 years until his retirement in 1989. His retirement years were spent keeping records of the Bison (dating back to the beginning) teams, as well as many professional sports. He loved the Bison football and basketball teams, as well as the Red Hawks. The Michigan Wolverines and the Army Black Nights were his other favorites. Come Monday and Friday night, he would be watching WWE/WWF Wrestling; he called it a soap opera! Another favorite event was any concert the Red River Valley Veterans Band played. He was one mean chicken dancer.

Paul also loved garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and antique shops. It was a treasure hunt for him and he would be so excited to get just the right item. He always had others in mind while shopping. Birthdays, special events, or holidays were never forgotten for family or friends. His greatest adventure was the Veterans Honor Flight in 2018. He had so much fun and was touched by the whole experience.

His sense of humor is legendary, and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. He touched so many with his smile and easy going manner. Life was never dull around Paul!

Though Heaven has gained another practical joker/comedian, laughter here has diminished; until we remember when....

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN PO Box 644, West Fargo, ND 58078.

A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
