Paul LeMier, 97, entered into his eternal rest on April 19, 2024 at Sanford Medical Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by the love of his family. Paul was born October 1, 1926 in Superior, WI to Joseph and Mary LeMier. Paul served in the Army (WWII) from 1944 – 1946 in the Engineer’s Battalion. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Marjorie Koivisto. They married August 8, 1948 in Duluth. Together they welcomed five children, Anita, L Paul, Linda (Lynn), Iris, and Eileen. During their time in Duluth, Paul worked for Greyhound, later to transfer to the Fargo Greyhound location, and continue working for 36 years as shop foreman. In 1988 he retired from Greyhound. He enjoyed his retirement by hunting, fishing, and working on cars and bicycles.
Paul is survived by his five children; son, L. Paul LeMier of Bismarck, ND, and daughters, Anita (Bruce) Gerlitz of Fargo, ND, Linda (Lynn) Anderson of Gwinner, ND, Iris Bakke of Fargo, ND, and Eileen (Reuben) Moseng of Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Gerlitz Mondry, Crystal (Brad) Strom, Josh Moseng, Andrew (Ashley) Moseng all of Fargo, Heather Gerlitz of Jamestown, ND, Michelle (Ryan) Fettig of Bismarck, ND, Sean (Dawn) Anderson of Gwinner, ND, Dami (Kevin) Rasmussen of Gwinner, ND, Gina (Bernie) Renschler of Driscoll, ND and Nikki (Rick) Johnson of Duluth, MN; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie, in 2013; his parents, Joseph and Mary; and his 11 siblings.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on April 25, 2024, with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Lunch will be provided following the service. Military honors will be presented at Sunset Memorial Gardens following lunch.
