Pat Mattson, 90, of Fargo, ND, went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Edgewood Vista in Fargo.
Patricia Ann (Thompson) Mattson was born August 2, 1933 in Fargo, ND to Herbert and Elvira (Pierson) Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fargo. Pat attended Jefferson Grade School, Agassiz Jr. High, and graduated from Fargo Central High in 1951.
Pat started work at NW Bell Telephone Company in the traffic department, then moving to the Directory Department for seven years.
On May, 8, 1953, Pat married her high school sweetheart, James S. Mattson in Ada, MN.
She worked at Lady Bug Boutique for two years, then as a receptionist at Northport Beauty Salon for ten years. Pat was a stay-at-home mom when the kids were young, and later worked for Herbergers in Moorhead for 24.5 years, retiring in February 2012 at 78 years old. She also belonged to the Rosewood Auxiliary.
Pat loved taking care of her grandkids, having Micah for six years until kindergarten. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church North in Fargo for over 60 years.
Pat has two daughters, DeNae Ann Weimer, Kalispell, MT; Stacie (Randy) Harwood, Fargo, ND; three grandsons, Anthony Weimer, Kalispell, MT; Holden (Allyson) and Brayden (Sami) Harwood, Fargo; two granddaughters, Jordanna (fiancé Daniel) Weimer, Kalispell; Micah (fiancé Carson) Harwood, Fargo; brother, Chuck (Camille) Thompson, Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Kevin; grandson, Charles; parents, and grandparents; sisters, Bev Eyer, Duluth; Sharon Hanson, Fargo.
The family thanks the wonderful staff at Edgewood Vista, Pearl's Place, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care of Pat.
