Othelia Hersrud, 82, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Othelia Sprenger was born July 19, 1927, on a farm near Roseglen, North Dakota. She attended country school, where she excelled. Othelia moved to Fargo with her sister, Rose. They worked for Holsum Bakery where she met Donald Hersrud, who became her husband and true partner for 63 years. Othelia loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was the Office Manager for their business, FM Sheet Metal; where she taught herself bookkeeping and helped manage the business. She loved gardening and sewing. All of her grandchildren have special quilts made by Othelia. In recent years, Othelia enjoyed working crossword puzzles with her husband. Baking and cooking were a big part of Othelia’s life. Anyone who visited her kitchen enjoyed bars, cookies and good coffee. Her greatest delight was to watch her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy one of her holiday meals. Othelia is survived by her husband, Donald; five sons: Brant (Sandy), Doug (Cher), Don (Deb), Darryl (Karen), Dwight (Lori), and one daughter, Cindy, all of Fargo-Moorhead. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Of 11 siblings, only her brother, Art, of Roseglen survives. She was preceded in death by her parents; ten siblings; her daughter, Marcia and her granddaughter, Jennifer. Memorial Service: Friday, July 9, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Hanson-Runsvold.
