Orris Forde, 92 of Fargo died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Orris Forde was born, raised and educated in the Tolna, ND area and attended Business College in Fargo, ND. He enlisted in the Signal Corps in 1942 and was assigned to radio training at UND Grand Forks and Coyne Electric School in Chicago and New Orleans. He attended Basic Training at Camp Crowder, MO. He was shipped to England to service military fighters and bombers as a Sergeant in Aircraft Radio for the duration of WWII. He married Anna R. Lorenz from Nekoma, ND on March 24, 1943. They had 6 children and lived in Rugby for 17 years before moving to Minot in 1963. He managed Grain Elevators in Westhope, Knox, Nekoma and Rugby. He was employed by Harvest States Regional Office in Minot until retirement in 1980. His wife, Anna, preceded him in death on July 4, 1993. On April 27, 1996, he married Mavis Cross of Fargo. They had been residing in Fargo, ND and Mesa, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Mavis Cross, Fargo, ND; brother, Norman Forde, McVille, ND; five sons, Dale (Connie) Forde, Fort Collins, CO, Duane (Pam) Forde, Boise, ID, Lynn (Dawn) Forde, Fargo, ND, Randy (Berry) Forde, Boise, ID and Bruce (Teri) Forde, Great Falls, MT; daughter, Annette (Kevin) Wurgler, Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Harris Forde and sister, Esther Howitz. Funeral: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
