Orpha Marie Smith 86, passed away peacefully on January 25th 2013 with her loving husband and daughter by her side, at Eventide living Center, Moorhead, Minnesota. Daughter of Arthur & Alvilda (Amundson) Rinke, born January 22, 1927 at home on the family farm, near Glyndon, Minnesota. Orpha attended Spring Prairie Country School and Glyndon Public High School, where she graduated in 1945. After High School she worked in the office of the Sears Roebuck Company in Fargo, North Dakota. On February 17th 1951 she married her high school sweetheart Patrick P. Smith, at the Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon Minnesota. They made their home in Fargo.
She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and spending summers at their cottage at Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Orpha and Patrick took many interesting trips together looking, the world over. Orpha & Patrick were very active for many years at the North Dakota Scottish Rite Children's Language Center. Orpha was a member of the Arab patrol ladies El Zagal shrine & the Shrine Auxiliary of Fargo, North Dakota. She was also the Vice president of the Fargo Laundry Inc.
The family of Orpha Smith would like to thank the staff & management of Eventide living Center, Moorhead, Minnesota, Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, North Dakota & Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years Patrick P. Smith and daughter Pamela K. Miller (Robert) of Fargo, North Dakota. Brother Verle Rinke, Moorhead, Minnesota, several nieces, nephews' cousins and many wonderful friends. Her parents Arthur & Alvilda Rinke preceded her in death.
Orpha & Patrick have been members of Olivet Lutheran Church for over 54 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to North Dakota Scottish Rite Children's Language Center
Her family and friends are very blessed by the memory of Orpha Marie Smith.
