Oriet Brown

Oriet Brown, 80, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Essentia Health, Fargo. Oriet Mae Helland was born November 4, 1930, in Fargo, North Dakota, daughter of Hymie and Gladys (Foien) Helland. She attended Oak Grove High School in Fargo, graduating in 1948. She married Bernard Brown on June 16, 1949, at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. They moved to Washington State and worked in the shipyards during World War II and returned to Fargo after the war. They raised their four children in Fargo. Oriet served as a foster mother to several children. Bernard died in 1989. We lost more than our Mom, we lost our best friend. She will be missed by all who loved her. Oriet is survived by her children, Craig (Cynthia) Brown; Dana Nichelson; and Lee (Marti) Brown, all of Fargo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Kevin. Memorial Service: Monday, October 17, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Larsen Chapel, Bethany on 42nd, Fargo. Visitation: Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 5-7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Inurnment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
