Norm was united in marriage to Margaret Skamfer on June 7, 1949 in Abercrombie, ND. Norm and Margaret had two children, Douglas and Dianne. They had been married 62 years at the time of Margaret’s death in 2012.
Norm was active in First Lutheran Church, Fargo Golden K Kiwanis (serving as President and Secretary), S.C.O.R.E., American Legion and Eagles Club. Norm was very handy and would never say no to any requests for help. He and Margaret enjoyed playing cards, traveling and socializing with their many friends and family. Norm touched many lives over his 88 years and easily made friends wherever he went. He approached each phase of his life with dignity and grace, even as his physical limitations made it difficult for him to maintain his independence. Norm always put his family first and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great grandchild later this year.
