Norma Rosella Younggren, 100, passed away July 9, 2018 at Rosewood on Broadway.
Norma was born March 13, 1918 to John and Louise Engan in Penn, North Dakota. She attended school in Devils Lake, North Dakota and graduated in 1936 from Devils Lake Central High School.
Upon graduation she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She married Everet (E.L.) Younggren April 23, 1943 in Steele, North Dakota and together they had four children.
Her favorite social times were with her Thursday bowling friends in the sports section of the Fargo Fine Arts Club, as well as the Fine Arts Book Club.
Norma owned and operated Accent On Beauty in downtown Fargo from the late 1970s until 1985.
Family was very important and she cherished her time with them. She enjoyed her summers on Pelican Lake where you would always find her in the kitchen making wonderful meals and desserts for all. In the evening, she would be in her favorite chair doing her crossword puzzles or playing scrabble with her family.
She is survived by her son, Robert E. (Pamela), Fargo; daughter, Jane L. Sweeney (Michael W.), Fargo; Grandchildren, Amy Sweeney, Fargo; Angela Younggren, Seattle, WA; Jennifer and Jill Younggren, Fargo; Jacqy George (Ryan), Cave Creek, AZ; John Sweeney (Stacey), Aurora, CO; Thomas Sweeney (Melissa), Champlin, MN; Alyssa Sweeney, Minneapolis, MN; Great-Grandchildren, William and Ella Sweeney, Fargo; Carolyn Green, Seattle, WA; Jayden and Hope Younggren, Fargo; Reese, Brooke and Lainey George, Cave Creek, AZ; Kaden, Olivia, Madison and Evalyn Butcher, Minneapolis, MN; Kathryn and Margaret Sweeney, Aurora, CO; Emmy and Eadlyn Sweeney, Champlin, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everet (E.L.); daughter, Susan, and son, John.
