Remembering the Life of Norma Katherine Jackson, age 94, Fargo, ND, formerly of Chaffee, ND, passed away on December 3rd, 2020.
Norma was born on January 9th, 1926 near Kindred, ND to John and Mina (Erstad) Dahl. She grew up on a farm near Leonard, graduating from Leonard High School. After graduation, she attended Valley City State Teachers College. Norma taught school in Hillsboro and Chaffee, ND. She married John Jackson in 1947 in Chaffee. Norma and John farmed, raised their family of 4 beautiful children and she worked as a cook at the school. They attended and were active in St. Peter’s Luthern Church. Norma and John followed many school and community activities. In 1980, they moved to Fargo. Norma was employed at St. Luke's/Meritcare Hospital and Hornbachers.
Norma was an avid quilter and always made sure that each of her children, grandchild and great grandchild had a quilt specifically made for each one of them. She looked forward to the times she could facetime with her great grandchildren. She loved flowers, gardening and playing games. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially out at the family farm. In her spare time, she loved to read, cook and bake. She has lived the last 14 years at One Oak Place in Fargo, making new friends, having coffee, participating in activities and playing cards.
Norma is survived by three of her four children: Cheryl (Roger) Kambeitz of Fargo, ND, Debbie (Olley) Eberhardt of Leonard, ND, Paul (Nancy) Jackson of Blaine, MN and Daughter-in-law Debbie Jackson of Windsor, CO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Stacey Braun, Buffalo MN, Chris (Missy) Kambeitz, Victoria, MN, Dr. Rebecca (Dr. Greg Feldpausch) Jackson, Fort Collins, CO, Daniel (Angie) Eberhardt, Barnesville, MN, Robert (Melissa) Jackson, Lino Lakes, MN, Lindsey (Clint) Jasperson, Timnath, CO, Jeffrey Eberhardt, Fargo, ND, David (Alyssa) Jackson, Pine City, MN, Morgan (Luke) Nerat, Fargo, ND, Ashley (Josh) Urdahl, Coon Rapids, MN. She is survived by 20 great grandchildren: Eric and Adam Braun, Cole, Crew, Brinley, Beckett and Brooklyn Kambeitz, Jackson and Clayton Feldpausch, Logan and Emma Eberhardt, Alex Urdahl, Liam, Ellie and Elijah Jackson, Oliver Nerat, Karna and Freya Jasperson, Nora and Henrick Jackson. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Bobbi Kraft, Betty Dahl, both of Fargo, ND and Marlene Dahl of Moorhead, MN.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, son John Jr. and three great grandchildren Henry Nerat, Lincoln Jackson and Isla Jackson. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, three brothers and five sisters.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
