Nora Rogers

March 17, 1907 — May 2, 2008

Nora May Schwatka was born March 17, 1907, to John and Susan (Batton) Schwatka in Prescott, Iowa. The family moved to Pequot Lakes, MN, where Nora attended school and worked at the resort. She married Claude Rogers on October 17, 1925, in Pillager, MN, where they farmed until moving to Fargo, ND, in 1942. Nora was an avid member of Golden Ridge Church, Fargo, and worked as a Dietician at American Nursing Home until she retired in 1972. They also spent many good years at their lake home on Lake Sallie, Detroit Lakes, MN. She was a resident at Golden Living Center for the past eight years before passing on May 2, 2008, at the age of 101 years. Nora is survived by one daughter, Florence Jivery, Mountain Iron, MN; two sons, Wesley (Marlene) Rogers, Grand Forks, ND; and Ervin (Nadine) Rogers, White Sulfer Springs, MT; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Nora is preceded in death by her husband, Claude; her parents; two brothers; one sister; two half-brothers; two half-sisters; and three grandchildren. Although Nora lived a full and happy life, she will be missed and her memory cherished by all that are left behind. Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 11:00AM; Golden Ridge Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo
