Muriel Vacha

Muriel Vacha, 93, of Fargo, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Bethany on University, Fargo, ND.

Muriel was born October 5, 1920 in Superior, WI, to Arnold and Betty (Carlsgaard) Amundson. She grew up in Superior, WI. There she graduated High School and attended Superior State College and later graduated with an Elementary Education Degree from Moorhead State University in 1968.
On January 14, 1942 she married Bill Vacha in Superior, WI. They moved to Fargo in 1948. She taught school with the Fargo Public School and raised five children in Fargo.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family at her lake home on Middle Cormorant Lake.

She is survived by her two sons, Tom (Jan) Vacha, Fargo, ND, and John (Patty) Vacha, Fargo, ND; two daughters, Sandy (Wiley) Morgan, Fargo, ND, and Vicki Scherling, Fargo, ND; and daughter-in-law, Jolene (Quentin) Wentz, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Matt, Kim, Bill, Angie, Lea, Susie, Pete, Michael, David, Tara and Zach; and thirteen, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Paul; sister, Betty Gail Swanson and brother, Arnie Amundson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Bethany Retirement Living and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
