Mona Schwanke

Mona Schwanke, 74, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday August 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN.

Mona was born February 13, 1941 in Perham, MN to John and Neva (Larson) Wolff. She attended area schools. Her father died early and her mother remarried. Andy Dietrich became like a second father to Mona.

She married Don Schwanke on November 3, 1958. Mona loved to read she also loved to spend time at her sons hobby farm, she enjoyed maintaining the grounds, clearing and burning brush, taking care of her large garden and feeding wild birds. Mona was concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with her own, her witty sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Mona is survived by her sons, Ken, Gary and Don (Chris) Schwanke, all of Fargo, ND; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley (Neal), Richville, MN; Marlene (Robert) Hoyt Lakes, MN; and Sandra (Mike), Plymouth, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-dad and son, David.
