Milan F. Hass, 85, of Fargo, ND passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 in his home.
Milan Fredrick Hass was born November 22, 1929, the son of Fredrick and Bernice Hass, in Perham, MN.
At the age of seven, the family moved to Wadena, Minnesota. He attended school in Wadena graduating in 1947. He attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN. He was then hired by the Great Northern Railroad as a telegraph operator. Milan married Alice M. Morstad of New York Mills, MN on April 7, 1951.
He was inducted into the United States Army in 1952. He spent the year of 1953 at the 63rd Signal Battalion in Sarlsburg, Austria. He continued working for the railroad for 11 years. He then started working for the Fargo Post Office for 28 years. He retired August of 1989.
Milan enjoyed hunting, golfing and being a carpenter. He built 2 lake cabins, 2 garages and a barn and a house on various properties they owned.
Milan will be remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Alice; his three children, Jeffrey (Darlene) Hass, Lisbon, ND; Thomas Hass, Fargo, ND; Renee Johnson, Fargo, ND; his five grandchildren: Michelle Hass, Jamestown, ND; Joshua (Jenn) Hass, Moorhead, MN; Laura (Derek) Bruns, Valley City, ND; Cory Hass, Fargo, ND: Levi (Heather) Kalsow, Bismarck, ND; great grandchildren: Lacy and Lexi Dwelle, Jamestown, ND; Liam Bruns, Valley City, ND; Jackson Hass, Moorhead, MN; and brother, Rodney Hass, Wadena, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
