Michael (Mike) D. Olson, age 70, of Fargo ND went to be with Jesus on August 22, 2012 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mike was born on August 12, 1942, to Seymour and Merrial (Pat) Olson. Mike was raised in Fargo, and graduated from Moorhead State University in 1964. On August 1, 1964, he married Bonnie Heiden.
Most of Mike's career was spent teaching science at Agassiz Middle School until his retirement in 1998. Mike spent many summers working alongside his father for Gust Olson Concrete Company.
Mike had many hobbies and interests including hunting, model airplanes, amateur radio, dog obedience training, reloading, wood working, and Bible study. In addition to his hobbies, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his brother Jack (Leola) Olson of Bismarck, ND; his daughters Aimee (John) Bagley of Saint Cloud, MN; Abbie (Frank) Jakofcich of Oklahoma City, OK; and Angela (Rob) Boser of Fargo, ND; along with his grandchildren Haley and Donald Bagley, Michela Jakofcich, Samuel and Lydia Boser. Mike was very excited to welcome a new Boser grandchild due the beginning of September.
Visitation: 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, with a prayer service at 6:00 pm.
Celebration Service: Monday at 10:00 am First Lutheran Church with a lunch to follow. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND.
