Mercille "Marcy" Fellbaum, 93, Fargo, died Friday, August 2, 2019 in Bethany on 42nd under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Marcy Erickson was born April 5, 1926 to Harry and Ruth (Bjornson) Erickson in Frazee, MN. She grew up on the family farm in the Frazee and Wolf Lake area of Minnesota. Marcy graduated high school from Frazee, MN and then moved to Fargo to attend Dakota Business College.
Marcy married Martin F. Fellbaum on March 23, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1993. They raised their family in Fargo and Marcy stayed at home to raise her children. She then worked at the Fargo YMCA for 31 years, never missing one day of work. After she moved out of her house, Marcy lived at Touchmark for 13 years. She moved to Maple View for one year before living at Bethany on 42nd the last three weeks.
Marcy enjoyed summers at Dead Lake in MN. Her hobbies included crocheting, family vacation trips, playing whist and gardening. Marcy was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church.
Marcy is survived by her children Daryl (Sue) Fellbaum, Rock Springs, Wyoming; Dean (Lori) Fellbaum, Fargo, ND; Faye (Loren) Sayler, Mandan, ND; Marlys (Jim) Witt, Fargo, ND; brother, Merle Erickson, Leipsic, Ohio; sister, Arlue Ostrem, West Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchlidren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marty, brother Harvey, twin brother Marshall and grandson Troy Fellbaum.
Marcy’s family wished to thank Touchmark for all the wonderful years she lived there, and also to the most wonderful and caring staff at Maple View, who were so good to our Mom and our family; and Bethany on 42nd and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the care they provided.
