Melvin Hansegard, 80, of Fargo, ND, died in his home Sunday, June 29, 2008. He was born to Knute and Ellen (Berg) Hansegard on August 13, 1927, in Lakota, ND. He attended grade school in Doyon, ND, and then moved to Clearbrooke, MN, where he attended and graduated from high school. After one year of college at NDSU, he was drafted and served in the Army during the Korean War 1952 – 1954. He worked at Holsum Bakery for 32 years. He married Edna Jacobson on July 21, 1962, in Finley, ND. They made their home in Fargo, ND, where they raised their four daughters. They were married for 45 years. Melvin is survived by his wife and four daughters; Susan (Kevin) Bosch, Deborah (Robert) Korstad, Lisa Mylonas, and Lynette (Michael) Newton; and four grandchildren; Anthony and Kiera Korstad; Matthew Bosch; and George Mylonas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two step-brothers, Raymond and Ernest Hansegard; and son-in-law, Aris Mylonas. Funeral Service: Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, July 6, 2008, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Finley, North Dakota.
