Melodie Pochmara, 45, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, Mar 31, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Melodie Anne Trandem was born July 1, 1977, in Fargo, ND, to Leslie and Brenda (Morlock) Trandem and passed away March 31, 2023. She was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church Fargo and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1995.

She pursued a Music Education degree at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis graduating in 1999. She taught elementary music in Spring Lake Park, MN, and Grand Forks Air Base, Grand Forks, ND. When her husband, Don, accepted a teaching position in Red Lake Falls, MN Melodie helped as a tutor in the middle and high school. After her first child was born, she made the decision to start a daycare where she cared for and taught all of the children as if they were her own. When her fourth child was old enough to start kindergarten, Melodie made the decision to go back into the schools where she volunteered for just about everything. She became a room mom for her children's classrooms, became the PTA president, and subbed anytime the school needed her. If the school had a need, she figured out a way to fill that need. As a way to combine her love of faith and music, and her willingness to serve, Melodie became the Contemporary Music Director for Messiah Lutheran Church, where she led the Sunday Contemporary services and Wednesday night Summer worship services. Always the loving teacher, Melodie studied and received her elementary teaching endorsements in 2019. She started teaching 1st grade at Lincoln Elementary and eventually at Washington Elementary, Fargo. Faith and service were integral parts of her life, and she spent many hours in church leading worship, playing in the handbell choir, musical groups, and working with the children's ministries. Serving others was always first on Melodie's list.

On June 26, 1999, she married Donald Pochmara at Hope Lutheran Church. They have 4 children; Aron, Christian, David, and Elizabeth, all at home in Fargo.

She is survived by her husband; children; mother and father; her brother, John (Lydia) Trandem; father and mother-in-law, Rick (Carmen) Pochmara; sisters-in-law, Deanna (Tony) Mosley and Jackie (Gabe) Lopez; brother-in-law, Richie (Terry Jo) Pochmara; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
