Melinda Virginia (Huber) Murrey, 91, Fargo, ND passed away on December 23, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, after a brief illness.
Linda was born July 9, 1923; the daughter of John E. and Anna (Roesler) Huber in Lowry, SD. She attended Sunnyside Country School in Lowry from 1st – 8th grade. She graduated from Java High School, Java, SD in 1941. Linda then moved to Fargo to attend and graduate from Dakota Business College in 1943.
On November 7, 1947, Linda married Marvin (Pat) Murrey at First Congregational Church in Moorhead, MN. On May 8, 1957, their twins, William and Beth were born.
Linda was an avid bowler for 54 years; earning the Distinguished Service Award in 1990 and was inducted into the Fargo-Moorhead Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame in 1993.
She worked at UESCO Warehouse as Credit Manager for 24 years. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Fargo where she was treasurer for many years, as well as performing other duties.
Linda loved having lunch and playing bingo at the Depot, and playing whist at the Hjemkomst Center. She enjoyed traveling, canning, baking, dancing, and was an avid sports fan; always cheering on the Redhawks and NDSU Bison.
She lived in her own apartment until 89 years young and then moved to Edgewood Vista. She will miss her friends there.
Linda is survived by her twins, Bill (Jeanie) Murrey, Fargo, ND; Beth (Mark) Walstead, Fargo, ND; and their daughters, Emily (Joe) Riley-Ella and Hayes, Fargo, ND; Brianne (Tyler) Brolin-Estelle, Memphis, TN; Melanie Walstead, Saint Cloud, MN; brothers, Melvin (Phoebe) Huber, and Calvin (Marcella) Huber, both Lowry, SD; sister-in-law, LaVere Huber, Aberdeen, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Harvey Huber, Lowry, SD; and in-laws, William (Stella Hatlestad) Murrey, Fargo, ND.
