Maynard Larson

Maynard Larson, 86, of Fargo, ND, died September 6, 2009, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Maynard Larson was born January 8, 1923, on a farm near Cooperstown, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1941, before attending North Dakota State University for two years and also Interstate Business College. He married Marion Larson on July 3, 1948, in Milroy, Minnesota. After finishing college, he worked at Archer Daniels Midland Co., in Minneapolis, MN, for at least five years. After marriage, they lived in Fargo and Maynard worked as Office Manager at Daveau Music Co., for 28 years, until retirement. His wife was teaching in Fargo. Maynard did enjoy volunteer work with Senior Citizens “Meals on Wheels” program and president of Fargo Senior Kiwanis Club. He really enjoyed attending grandson Sean’s hockey games at North High and football games at the University of Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Marion, Fargo, ND; one son, Gregory (Gloria) Larson, St. Paul, MN; one daughter, Cynthia (Craig) Scholle, Fargo, ND, and their two sons, Nathan, Fargo, ND; and Chad (Lisa) Kosin, LaCrosse, WI; and their four children; son-in-law, Greg Hoffman and his two children Sean (Maren) Hoffman and their daughter, Nora Ann, all of Minneapolis, MN; and Elisha Hoffman, New York City, NY; two sisters, Hazel Smith, Fargo, ND; Arla (Merland) Carlson, Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judith Hoffman; sisters, Evelyn Hoganson and Doris Gjesdahl; and brothers, Howard and Lester Larson. Memorial Service: Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2:00PM at Bottelfson Chapel, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
