Mary Beth Classon, 53, died March 24, 2009, at Rosewood on Broadway surrounded by her family after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. Mary Beth Classon was born October 7, 1955, the daughter of Douglas and Arlene Classon, Fargo. She grew up in Fargo graduating from Fargo South High in 1975. Mary Beth moved into New Horizons Manor where she lived for over 20 years. She worked and volunteered at various positions including Premier Technologies, Fargo Boy Scout office, Rosewood on Broadway and also really enjoyed the opportunity up at MeritCare Neonatal unit where she rocked numerous newborns. Mary Beth’s most memorable job was being the door greeter at WalMart in Fargo where her contagious smile met all who came through the doors. She dearly loved her job where she worked for over 10 years. She enjoyed seeing the children come up to her for a smiley face sticker for their shirts. Mary Beth moved to Rosewood on Broadway in 2003. She became a special part of Rosewood delivering mail, keeping the popcorn fresh all day and helping anyone who needed her. Mary Beth touched the lives of all the residents and staff with her radiant smile and contagious laugh. Thank you to Rosewood for all the loving and caring you gave to her. She truly loved all of you. Mary Beth is survived by her parents, Doug and Arlene, Fargo, ND; sister, Julie (Mike) Jacobson, Fargo, ND; sister, Ann Classon, Lake Park, MN; nieces, Jamie Vincent, Coon Rapids, MN; Jennifer Vincent, Rothsay, MN; Erica Jacobson, Montana; and a very special great nephew, Benjamin Douglas Wilson, Coon Rapids, MN; special God parents, Arnie and Betty Gunness, Alexandria, MN; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, her best friend, her much loved dog, Mattie Mae. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Olga Vangsnes and Clarence and Thelma Classon. Funeral Service: 2:30 Sunday, April 5th at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus. Visitation: 4:00-7:00 pm Saturday, April 4th with a Prayer Service at 7:00 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
