Mary Pauline Narum, 90, passed away at Manor Care August 22, 2018. Mary was born November 29, 1927 in Ishpeming, MI to Carmella and Leonardo Poliseno. She grew up in Dilworth's "Little Italy".
Mary married Garfield O.A. Narum on January 22, 1954. She was a stay-at-home mom until their two children were grown and then worked at Camelot Cleaners. She was a member of Nativity Church and active in church activities. She was also a Camp Fire leader when her daughter was growing up.
Mary was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was known throughout the neighborhood for her delicious spaghetti and meatballs. Neighbors were very happy when she made her spaghetti sauce because they knew she would be sending an Italian meal down the street.
Mary is survived by her children, Garfield (Valerie) Narum and Catherine Halgunseth; grandchildren, Jessica Narum (Colin Holter), Sara (Matthew) Lau, Christopher Narum, and Kari (Ryan) Hill; and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Olivia Hill, and Wyatt and Sophia Lau.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Carmella Poliseno, and brothers, John Poliseno and Anthony Poliseno, and her husband, Garfield O.A. , in 1984.
In honor of the wonderful care she received, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
