Mary Rose “Pinky” LaBrasca, 67, of Fargo, ND, passed away on September 5, 2014 at Essentia Health of Fargo.
Mary Rose McCluhan was born on November 2, 1946 in Lincoln, NE to Neil Richard and Angela (Camarda) McCluhan. She was raised as a young girl in Sioux City, IA and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1964. She attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD and completed her degree in Registered Nursing from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1969.
Mary began her nursing career working for the Public Health Hospital in Winnebago, NE. In 1973 she moved to Fargo, ND and began working as an RN for the Fargo VA hospital. In 1989 she bagan working as the Nurse responsible for OSHA compliance for Crystal Sugar Corp. Mary worked there until 2002, when she began working as the OSHA Nurse for Lamb Weston RDO in Park Rapids, MN. She retired in 2007.
Mary enjoyed singing and as a young woman loved to entertain with her beautiful voice. She was a wonderful cook and loved making Italian dishes for her family and friends. Mary enjoyed traveling to larger cities around the United States. She was also selected as a North Dakota Mother of the Year.
Mary is survived by two sons, Michael, Fargo, ND; and Lawrence, Anoka, MN; mother, Angela; sister, Leah (Tim) Pigatti; sister, Barbara (Ron) Baker; brother, John (Shirley) McCluhan; sister, Kelly (Richard) Buchholz-Bolez; sister-in-law, Joni McCluhan; sister, Joan Zuhlsdorf; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her father; brother, Richard; brother-in-law, Dewey Zuhlsdorf; and nephews, Erich Buchholz and Mark Buchholz.
