Mary Ingulsrud

Mary Ingulsrud, 68, passed away on Thursday, April 5th at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, after a nine-year journey with a rare form of dementia. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born Mary Louise Hunter in Martinez, California, April 23rd 1938, she began school in Milton ND, but spent most of her youth through high school in Lebam, Washington. She and her sisters were very active in school events and activities. After a year in college in Washington and working as a dental assistant, she moved to Grand Forks, and worked for Northwestern Bell. December 5th, 1959, she married Frank Ingulsrud in Milton. They farmed north of Edmore for 34 years, where they raised their children: Kathleen (Bob) Stjern of Roseville, MN; Brian (Annette) Ingulsrud of Fargo, ND; and Rebecca (Darrin) Romfo, Langdon, ND. Her life’s joy was her family, and entertaining friends and family at their farm home. She was involved in various service, church, and community activities in the Edmore area. They spent winters in Mesa, Arizona for nine years, and in 2001 she and Frank moved to Fargo where Frank was her primary caregiver until last March. Preceded in death by her Father, Charles Hunter, and her sister, Kathleen Sundlie. She is survived by her Mother, Hattie Hunter of Fargo; sisters Charlotte (Chuck) Soli, Langdon; Judith Gustafson, Fargo; LuAnn (Gerald) Hipsher, Lexington, KY; brothers Chuck (Linda) Hunter, Burnsville, MN, and Robert (Arlene) Hunter, Dilworth; grandchildren Eric, Chad and Alex Ingulsrud, Britta and Bobby Stjern, and Jack Romfo; and 31 nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for all the care and attention of the staff at Waterford Estates, Rosewood on Broadway, and for the kindness of Hospice staff and volunteers. There will be a prayer service in Fargo at Monday, April 9, 2007, at 6 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. A memorial service is planned in the Living Word Church, Edmore, ND, Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 10:30 AM, with interment at the Prospect Cemetery. Memorials to: Hospice of the Red River Valley or charity of the donor’s choice.
