Marvin James "Jimmy" Huckle, 79, of Fargo, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. Marvin was born on August 25, 1945, in Breckenridge, MN, and grew up on the family farm near Lidgerwood, ND. He enjoyed playing basketball, football, and running track at Lidgerwood High School where he graduated in 1963. Marvin then attended NDSU where he was involved with the football team and Army ROTC.

On June 28, 1969, Marvin married the love of his life, Mary Moordale. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. They raised two children, Sarah and Mark, and Marvin was an incredibly proud father. Marvin proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star by the US Army for heroic service. Rising through the ranks from patrolman to lieutenant, Marvin dedicated 30 years of his life to protecting and serving his community with the Fargo Police Department.

Marvin was a passionate supporter of Bison athletics and seldom missed a game. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and cherished his time spent at the lake.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn (Stiteler) and Marvin Huckle, Sr. He is survived by his brother, David Huckle of Lidgerwood, ND; his beloved wife, Mary (Moordale) Huckle; his children, Sarah (Huckle) and Scott Paul, and Mark and Sarah (Wolters) Huckle; and his five cherished grandchildren, Wren, Alex, Lucy, Piper, and Lily, all of Fargo, ND. Marvin will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, kindness, and community will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A memorial service will be held at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6th at 2:00pm. Following the service, please join us at Herd and Horns for a celebration of Marvin's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fargo VA or NDSU Team Makers in Marvin's name.
