Martin S. Hector, 40, died in his home Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Martin was born July 19, 1966. He lived most of his life in Fargo. He graduated from High School and attended Edison College (Florida), Moorhead Technical College, and North Dakota State University. He was a founder and President of Precision Grooving Systems, Inc., a North Dakota company that designed and developed equipment for making recessed pavement markings on streets and highways. Martin always embraced new technologies. He loved gadgets and he had a talent for working with computers and electronics. He designed corporate websites and enjoyed playing complex computer games. He also played electric guitar and he loved listening to rock music. He also enjoyed golf, fishing and boating at the lake. Martin’s family was proud and happy with his successes and he will be missed. His parents, Fred M. and Earlyne L. Hector of Fargo, and his sister, Carrie Hector of Fargo, survive him. He was preceded in death by his brother Clay, and his grandparents, Fred M. Hector, Margaret Sewall Hector, John R. Souther and Dorothy M. Souther. He was also preceded in death by his dog and best friend, Dio, a Doberman/Black Labrador cross who was given to Martin by rock star Joan Jett. A private family memorial service is planned for the spring.
