Martin Ferber, 61, of West Fargo, ND, died Friday, January 15, 2010, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, ND. Martin Alan Ferber was born November 25, 1948, in Buffalo, New York, son of Alfred and Doris (Barber) Ferber. He grew up in West Seneca, New York and attended Bishop Ryan Catholic School in Buffalo. Martin joined the United States Air Force in 1969, stationed in Grand Forks, North Dakota, as a war missile maintenance mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1974. On May 13, 1972, Martin married Gayle Flewell at the Neumann Center in Grand Forks. Martin worked as an auto mechanic. Martin and Gayle made their home in West Fargo, North Dakota, where Martin was an active Cub Scout Leader of Troop #213 and Boy Scout Troup #279. Martin tried to live his entire life by the Boy Scout motto. He loved British cars and was a member of a British car club. He was a devoted father and helped raise three sons. Martin is survived by his wife, Gayle, West Fargo, ND; three sons, Jeffrey (Tanya) Ferber, Billings, MT; Daniel and Andrew Ferber, West Fargo, ND; a brother, Richard (Marie) Ferber, Cheektawaga, NY; a sister, Eileen (Neil) Gallineau, Hamburg, NY; and two grandchildren, Carter and Chloe Ferber. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 10:30 AM, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, January 19, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Vigil: Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Inurnment: Riverside Mausoleum, Fargo, ND, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
