Marlys Ann Trefethren, 78, Fargo, ND died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Visitation will be at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND on Thursday, December 15, from 5-7PM with a prayer service at 5:30PM. The funeral is 1:00 PM, Friday, December 16, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Marlys was born in Fargo, ND to John R. and Ordell L. (Matzke) Siewert on May 19, 1938. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. She attended grade school in Fargo, ND and high school in Arthur, ND. She was united in marriage to Melford Trefethren on September 13, 1957 at the American Lutheran Church. She worked at the Fargo Café, Nodak Grill and Meritcare Hospital where she retired in 2001.

She is survived by her children: Theresa (Francis) Hamilton, Fargo, ND; Pamela (Jeff) Kalk, Moorhead, MN; Melford Trefethren, Fargo, ND; Douglas (Shelly) Trefethren, Horace, ND; Robert (Tammy) Trefethren, Fargo, ND; Susan Trefethren, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Jason Schwanke, Joshua Schwanke, Jordan Hamilton, Melford Hutchens, Justin Hutchens, Melford Trefethren Jr., Madison Trefethren, Lisa Trefethren, Eric Trefethren, Robert (Lauren) Trefethren, Tyler Trefethren, Kyle Trefethren, Robert Simonson, Austin Simonson; great-grandchildren: Cruz Hamilton, Josslyn Trefethren, RoseMary Hanson; and brother, Dennis Siewert of Berlin, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melford; her siblings, Carolyn Nelson and Jerry Siewert; sister-in-law, Eva Siewert and her parents, John R. and Ordell Siewert.
