Marlene Haeffner

Marlene "Sis" Haeffner, 77, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND. Marlene was born October 12, 1932 in Dilworth, MN to Evelyn Madel Booth and Ernest Olson. As a young woman she worked at the telephone company and was a Big Band singer. She married Fred Albert Haeffner on June 12, 1953 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Fred was a fighter pilot for the Air Force and they were able to travel the world together. She is survived by her son, Guy (Tina) Haeffner, Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Robin (Miguel) Matos, Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Joanne Pollock and Betty Burda; six grandchildren, Scott, Holly, Mikael, Tiffany, Dakota and Eric; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Hunter, and Rowdy; and many beloved family members and a multitude of friends too numerous to count. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert Olson and Loren Booth. Funeral: Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 9:00 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Burial: September 15, 2010, 3:00 PM at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
