Marjorie M. Holt Obituary Marjorie M. Holt, 84, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Marjorie Leeland was born September 2, 1923, in Porter, MN, to Sidney and Caroline (Knutson) Leeland. She grew up in Porter and attended schools in the area, graduating from high school in Canby, MN. She entered the Navy in 1943, and was discharged in 1946. She married John Holt on September 3, 1949, in Fargo, ND. Marjorie had many interests including sewing, reading, VFW and American Legion auxiliaries, and supported her children’s activities, which included being a den mother for the Cub Scouts. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, attending auctions and many yard sales. Marjorie is survived by her husband; sons, Larry (Stephanie) Holt, Napoleon, ND; Eugene Holt, Roy, UT; and daughter, LouAnn (Mike) Zurn, West Fargo, ND; five grandchildren, Dylan, Christopher, Karen, Benjamin and Rebecca; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, R. I. “Bud” Leeland; sister, Lewene Hines; parents-in-law, Elmer Sr. and Karen Holt; and brothers-in-law, Clifford, Mike, Elmer, Ralph and Frank Holt. Burial will be Thursday, January 3, 2007, at 1:00 PM, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
