Marjorie Ann Gillund Haukedahl, 93, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 in Fargo.
Marjorie, daughter of Paul and Olga Gillund, was born March 12, 1919, at Wildrose, North Dakota. She was baptized, confirmed and was a lifetime member in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo for over 50 years.
Marjorie married John Haukedahl in July 1947. They owned a hardware business and a lumber company in Wildrose until moving to Fargo in 1960.
In Fargo, she worked as a secretary for American Life Insurance Company and for the Federal Government’s General Services Administration. She was active in her church, community affairs and volunteer organizations.
Marjorie is survived by her two sons, James (Linda) in Fargo; Mark (Cathy) in Minneapolis; and three grandchildren, Erika Haukedahl, Fargo; Kari (Ben) Nelson, Minneapolis; and Brett Haukedahl, Minneapolis. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Shirley Gillund in Wildrose and Ruth Gillund in Crosby, ND, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1985; her parents; four sisters, Amy, Bernice, Gladys, and Clara; and two brothers, Bernhard and Ernest.
