Marjorie Crowe, 85, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Elim Care Center, Fargo, surrounded by her family. Marjorie Jeanne Thompson was born January 25, 1923, in Dallas, Texas, to Dr. L. S. and Marjorie (Crawford) Thompson. She met James Crowe while attending Stephen’s College in Missouri, and they married on February 4, 1943. When James returned from WWII, they each finished degrees at SMU and moved to Fargo, where James owned Bergstrom and Crowe Furniture Company. Together, they were blessed with five children. Marjorie was a strong, spiritual Christian who shared her love of life with all who knew her. Her years of service in God’s name included time as a member of Presbyterian Women, a Deacon and a Stephen Minister in the First Presbyterian Church in Fargo and over 40 years in the Ninth Street Prayer Group. She was an active member of PEO, Chapter E. Marjorie is survived by her loving husband, James, Fargo; four children, Clinton (Debra), Lafayette, LA; Robert (Janet Jones), Comstock, MN; James Thomas (Kathy Robinson), Boise, ID; Carroll Jeanne (John) Thune, Dallas, TX; and four grandchildren, Jesse, Kristen, Harland and Christopher; one nephew, Sanders; and two nieces, Lynn and Martha; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Georgia Lee Crowe; and her brother, Dr. L. S.
