Marilyn Garrett was born January 28, 1929 in Hunter, ND to Harold D. and Kathryn L. (Stafford) Garrett.
She married Donald Monson on August 28, 1949 in Hunter, ND. She and Donald had 2 sons, Mark and David and a daughter, Mary. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family.
Marilyn G. Monson, 89, Detroit Lakes, MN formerly Fargo, ND died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Essentia Health/Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Bonnie) Monson, Minnetonka, MN and David (Judy) Monson, Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald and daughter, Mary.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Monson Family lake cottage, 11152 Dakotah Beach Rd, Lake Melissa, Detroit Lakes, MN. Due to the venue, the family requests no flowers please.
Special thanks to Oak Crossing Nursing Home and Hospice for the care and support shown to Marilyn and her family.
