Marie Lutgen

Marie Lutgen, 75, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo. Marie Dorothy Lutgen was born July 15, 1935, daughter of Melvin and Dorothy (Moos) Mathena, in Osseo, Minnesota. She grew up in Osseo and attended school. Marie married Edward Milton Lutgen October 18, 1952 in Osseo. They lived in Blaine, Minnesota and moved to Minot, North Dakota, in 1970. Edward died in 1994. In 1995, Marie moved to Fargo, North Dakota. Marie spent her life making a home for her family. She loved to read and was active in her church. Marie was a charter member of Heartland Community Church, Fargo. She loved the ocean, swimming, watching Jeopardy and classical music. Marie is survived by her children, Christopher Lutgen, Minneapolis, MN; Vicki (Terry) Dierkson, Amhurst, SD; Lynn (Darren) Tabor, Spokane, WA; Dorothy (Scott) Wilson, Fargo, ND; Timothy (Lottie) Lutgen, Moorhead, MN; Matthew (Lynn) Lutgen, Brooklyn Park, MN; Paul Lutgen, Minneapolis, MN; and Laurie Aquino, Marion, IA; her siblings, Earl (Genie) Mathena, Castle Rock, CO; Lucille (Harvey) Dahlheimer, Alexandria, MN; William (Joann) Mathena, Osseo, MN; Ruth Ann (Richard) Windholtz, Chipley, FL; Kathleen (Bob) Clemenson, Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Carol Mathena, Coon Rapids, MN; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Edward; and brother, David Mathena. Funeral Service: Monday, April 4, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Heartland Community Church, West Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN, Area One, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
