Marie Jeanne Coryell , 74, of Northwood, ND, passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2018. The Lord brought his daughter home following a year-long battle with Leukemia. She had a huge desire to beat AML and fought the disease valiantly. She so wanted to spend more time with her grandkids. They were her pride and joy for the past 34 years.
Marie Rheault was born October 30, 1943. She was raised on the family farm in Horace, ND. Those grateful to have shared in her life included her four siblings: Tommy (Sharon) Rheault , Las Vegas, NV; Kathleen (Curtis) Olerud, Fargo, ND; Leroy (Betty) Rheault, West Fargo, ND; and Phyllis (Herb) Hamilton, Green Valley, AZ. She married Bruce Coryell in 1960. Bruce and Marie were married for 58 years and had 5 children. Jeanne (Phil) Tittle, Navarre, FL; Jane (Jarrod) Gerner, Barnsville, MN; Janet Coryell; Jodi (Ted) Lloyd, Northwood, ND; and James Coryell, Anchorage, AK. Marie was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Marie worked for the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND, for 33 years. She retired in 1998 and they moved to Green Valley, AZ to escape the ND winters. She and Bruce eventually moved back to ND and built a home near Northwood, ND. Marie spent much of her retired days working in her flower gardens, enjoying her grand kids, and volunteering.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Julien and Laura Rheault and infant daughter Janet Coryell. Marie's strong faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, allows us to celebrate her life, knowing she is in heaven
for eternity, as promised in John 3:16 and again in John 5:24. "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."
Memorials will be donated to the Hope Lodge, located on the campus of the University of MN.
