Margaret Pfeifer

Margaret Pfeifer, 96, of Fargo, ND, formerly Langdon, ND, died peacefully under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND.

Margaret Penner was born May 17, 1921 in Cavalier County, ND to Jacob and Katherine (Veer) Penner.

She was united in marriage to Harold A. Pfeifer in Langdon, ND on October 2, 1946. Together they farmed in Gordon Township near Langdon where they raised their four children. Margaret was involved in every aspect of the farm life with Harold. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and crocheting, for which she won a blue ribbon at the Red River Valley Fair for an afghan. They moved to Langdon in 1980. Margaret moved to Bethany Assisted Living in 2011 and to skilled care in February 2017.

Margaret is survived by her children, Wayne (Patricia) Pfeifer, Lincoln, ND; Marvin Pfeifer, Pratt, KS; Corinne (Rev. Kenneth) Kirchenwitz, Dent, MN; Merlin (Janine) Pfeifer, Devils Lake, ND; grandchildren, Patrick (Barbara) Pfeifer, Beth (James) Cline, Kent (Rev. Trichelle) Kirchenwitz, Scott Pfeifer, Bradley Pfeifer; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nick Penner, Henry Penner, Irene Bakken, Elaine Brand, and David Penner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; and six siblings.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Bethany Retirement Living.
