Margaret Elizabeth (Callan) Pett, 93, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Friendship Home Community – Roselawn in Roseville, MN. Margaret was born August 13, 1916, in Duluth, MN, to Clara and Frederick Callan. She grew up in Wahpeton, ND, and after graduating from high school, went to work for Rustad Insurance Co. She completed a two-year secretarial program at Wahpeton School of Science where she met Arnold R. Pett. They married October 19, 1939. The couple lived variously in Green Bay, WI; St. Paul, Fairbault and Duluth, MN; and Enderlin, ND, before settling permanently in Fargo, ND, in the spring of 1951. There, Margaret worked for Gaffney’s Office Supply Co. until her retirement at age 70. She had been a member of Olivet Lutheran Church almost 60 years, until July 2009, when she moved to Roseville to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, John; Catherine Schumacher; and Robert. Margaret is survived by her son, Richard (Judith), Edina, MN; and three grandchildren, Heather Pett Taylor, Duluth, MN; Justin Pett, Edina, MN; and Brett Wolter, Cincinnati, OH; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Katherine Taylor. Her daughter Sharon (Warren Wolter), Cincinnati, OH, passed away two days after her mother, on July 9, 2010. Funeral Service: Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 2:30 P.M. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation with the family: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND. Cake and coffee will be served, following the burial, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.
