Margaret Jean Weyland, 91, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on July 6th, 2018.
Margie was born on August 26,1926 at her farm home southwest of Aneta, ND, the daughter of Herman and Margit (Huso) Torgerson. She was baptized and confirmed at Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta ND. She grew up attending country school in Griggs County and graduated from Aneta High School, Fargo Business College, and Interstate Business College. Margie was employed at Home Heating and The Veterans Administration as a secretary. On December 1, 1947 Margie married Theadore F. Weyland. After their marriage they lived both in Moorhead and Fargo. Ted was part owner of Ingberg Furniture Shop in Fargo, and Margie worked at: American Crystal Sugar, The City of Fargo, Cass County Home Extension Office, and Northern School Supply where she retired after 26 years.
To stay active and social she went back to work at Blue Cross/Blue Shield until she was 78 years old. Margie was a member of First Lutheran in Fargo. She enjoyed the Abigail Circle and helping serve for funerals. She was a member of the Fine Arts Club in Fargo. Margie enjoyed: bowling, reading, and sharing her baked confections with others. Her only “claim to fame” was being the champion speller in Griggs County in 3rd grade.
Margie is survived by her children: Pam Jones, Portland, OR; Grant (Marsha) Moorhead, MN; Greg (Michelle) Minden, NV; Cindy Sarfo-Kantanka, Portland, OR; Jeff, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Sara Ford, Blake Weyland, Desirae Watson, Natalie Jones-Rusnock, Akos Sarfo-Kantanka, Mary Weyland, Wyatt Weyland, and 3 great-grandchildren; Sidney Ford, Ashlee Ford, Heidi Watson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers: Mayo, Carrol, Miles, and their wives.
