Mardys Sigmund

Mardys D. Sigmund, 69, of Windsor, CO, (formerly of Bismarck and Fargo, ND), died Sunday, December 13, 2009, in Fort Collins, CO. Mardys Darleen Trautman was born April 18, 1940, in Driscoll, North Dakota, daughter of Fred and Evelyn (Newcomer) Trautman. She graduated from Driscoll High School. Mardys moved to Bismarck and worked at Herberger’s Department Store for 25 years, eventually becoming office manager. After retiring, she worked at H & H Insurance Company in Fargo, ND. Her first husband, Del Schneider, passed away May 2000. Mardys married William Sigmund in Las Vegas, NV, on January 30, 2005. Mardys loved her family and family activities, going to the casino and playing slot machines, working in her flower garden and taking care of her home. She loved to watch any activities in which her grandsons were involved and the Denver Nuggets. Mardys is survived by her husband, William, Windsor, CO; daughter, Sherry (Mike) Williams, Fargo, ND; step-daughters, Martina (Lynn) Brandenburger, Mapleton, ND; and Karen Wieland, Fargo, ND; sister-in-law, Margie Trautman, Windsor, CO; sister, LeNor (Roger) Dollinger, Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tory Williams; step-grandsons, Blaze and Simon Brandenburger; Justin and Jaden Wieland; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Vern Trautman. Funeral Service: Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 11 AM, at Hope Lutheran Church – South Campus, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
