Marcus Paulus Speidel, 80, passed away March 4, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Marcus was born October 3, 1941 at home in Monango, ND. His family later moved to Lidgerwood, ND where he graduated from High School. He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering at the State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Marcus married Roselynn Andrea Hellbusch on May 4, 1968 at Ottertail, MN. They raised their family in North Fargo. They were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church where Mark was an usher for many years.

Marcus was employed by Northwestern Bell/USWest/Qwest from 1962-1995 and United Telephone from 1996 until retirement in 2013.

Marcus enjoyed gardening, cooking, and was always ready to share bits of trivia about many subjects. He enjoyed being at the lake cabin in Ottertail, MN, camping outdoors, and family trips to Itasca State Park. Mark was a proud provider for his family and always had confidence in his loved ones.

Marcus is survived by his wife Roselynn, son Jeff, daughter Andrea (Ryan) Engebretson, two sisters, and many nephews and nieces. Marcus loved and enjoyed his grandchildren Emily, Jordan, Katja, Gabrielle, and James. He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, one brother, two sisters, and two nephews.

The family is grateful to the Sanford Home Dialysis Clinic and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care.

The family requests memorials be sent to a non-profit of your choice.

Funeral will be Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo, with a viewing beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, ND.
