Marcia A. Mohr, 82, of Fargo, died January 9, 2012, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo. Marcia Ann Erickson was born on May 23, 1929, in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Dr. Clarence and Ruth (Burriss) Erickson. She attended Pelican Rapids High School and NDSU, where she was an active member of Kappa Delta sorority, Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity, and served as NDSU College Chair along with several other college-related organizations. Marcia married Frederick W. Mohr III in Pelican Rapids on December 29, 1949. They had four children and with the exception of 2 ½ years living in Jamestown, they made their home in Fargo. As a volunteer, Marcia was a Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls leader. She carried Meals on Wheels for 25 years and was a member of the MeritCare and YWCA Auxiliary. A long time member of Plymouth Congregational Church, she served on various committees and belonged to Women’s Fellowship and several circles. She was also a member of the Plymouth Chancel Choir for over 50 years. Marcia was a member of the Board of Directors of Dacotah Paper Company from 1990-2009 and served as Vice Chairman of the Board from 1996-2009. She was a past member of the Fargo Moorhead Women’s Chorus and an active member of Chapter AE-PEO. She was a certified Daughter of the American Revolution. Marcia was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark, and her husband, Frederick W. Mohr III, and her parents. Marcia is survived by two brothers, Clark B. (Donna) Erickson of Cavalier, ND, and Jon B. (Cindy) Erickson of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Ruth A. (Leslie) Palmer of Vancouver, WA; two sons, Eric W. (Debra) Mohr of Alexandria, MN, and Matthew D. (Cynthia) Mohr of Fargo, ND; and nine grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to Plymouth Congregational UCC, 901 Broadway N., Fargo, ND 58102.
