Marcelle Hustad

Marcelle A. Hustad, 83, of Lake Park, MN, (formerly of Fargo, ND) died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park. Marcelle “Mickey” Ann Coons was born October 9, 1927, in Bismarck, North Dakota, daughter of Thomas and Zella (Turner) Coons. She grew up in McKenzie, North Dakota before moving to Fargo. In Fargo, she attended Agassiz Jr. High and graduated from Fargo Central in 1945. She attended school in Chicago and returned to Fargo to work for Western Union and WDAY. Mickey married John “Jack” Hustad December 16, 1950, in Fargo. They raised their family in Fargo. After retirement, they lived at Long Lake, near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Jack died August 20, 1988. She loved the outdoors, camping, nature, animals, fishing and gardening. Mickey is survived by her children, Guy Hustad, Moorhead, MN; Heidi Graten, Fargo, ND; and Kathleen (Rick) Jorgensen, Fargo, ND; her brother, David Mooney, Gillette, WY; and sister, Gloria Buhaug, Lake Park, MN; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; sister, Delores; and brother, Raymond. Funeral Service: Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation: Wednesday, April 27, 2011, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Humane Society.
