Lyle Myron Peterson, 89, of Fargo, died July 9, 2015 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Lyle was born August 22, 1925 in Milnor, ND to Gilman and Ella (Johnson) Peterson. Lyle attended school in Milnor.
On June 29, 1943, he married Shirley D. Peterson in Webster, SD. They lived in Milnor and Wimbledon, before moving to Fargo in 1952.
Lyle worked for Holsum Bakery for 16 ½ years. He then worked for the Fargo Schools from 1967 to 1988 until his retirement.
He spent many hours with his son Gyle, watching movies late into the evening. He also enjoyed watching the home improvement shows on HGTV. He especially enjoyed “American Pickers”.
Lyle is survived by his sons, Bob (Sylvia), Breckenridge, MN and Gyle of Fargo; granddaughter, Stacy Allen, Breckenridge; great-granddaughter, Brittany (Tony) Bogenreif and great-great-granddaughter, Madelyn of Breckenridge; sister, Nancy Walker, Minneapolis, MN and brothers, Duane (Joanne) and Jerry (Julie), Fargo; brother-in-law, Kenley Chapman, Crookston, MN; sister-in-law, Peggy Peterson, Elk Grove, CA; and a special family friend, Blanche Braasch, West Fargo, ND.
Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Dianne; his parents; brothers, Vernon and Gordon Peterson; and sister, Donna Chapman.
