Luke A. Bakke, 17 of Fargo, ND, was welcomed by Christ into heaven in his home on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
Luke was born to Ray and Karen Bakke on October 21, 1996, in Lakeville, MN and was baptized in Christ March 23, 1997, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lakeville, MN. He was confirmed in Christ May 1, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. His favorite Bible verse was from Mark 10:27—“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.’”
A gentle soul with a fine wit and sense of humor, Luke loved “hangin” with his friends who loved him like a brother. Many of those friends were fellow employees at West Acres Cinema where he worked for almost two years.
An avid gamer, Luke loved technology and video games. He also loved Tiki memorabilia, Domo’s, Samurai swords, comic books and movies—Spider Man most of all.
Luke had lofty ambitions, and by receiving his GED almost two years early and being accepted to NDSU where he was to begin classes this week, he was on his way. He was looking forward to campus life, challenging studies and making new friends.
Luke was accomplished in many areas including piano, guitar and flute. He earned his Lifeguard certification when he was 16. He loved to ride his bike and was very proud of his car.
Luke is survived by his parents, Ray and Karen Bakke, brother Matthew, sister Madison, his beloved pet, Twinkles, all of Fargo, his aunt, Carol (Larry) Mikkelson of Fergus Falls, MN, his uncle Richard (Karen) Bakke of Fargo, plus various cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Albert and Violet Newell, of Canton, IL, and Milfred and Gloria Bakke of Fargo.
We celebrate his life and although too brief, he touched each of us in unforgettable ways.
