Lucile G. (Clancy) Zink, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017, at Essentia Hospital with family at her side.
Lucile was born in Valley City, ND on January 3, 1932, to John and Frances (Starke) Clancy and was raised in the Valley City area where she attended school. After high school, she attended Valley City State University where she received her teacher certificate. She later moved to the Carrington, ND area where she taught school and met the love of her life, Bill Zink. They were married in June of 1952 and farmed in the Carrington area until retiring from farming in 1986. After retirement, Bill and Lucile enjoyed spending winters in AZ and summers in ND.
Lucile found purpose in her life as a school teacher, loving wife, homemaker and mother of nine. Her family was always her focus, and she was especially proud of her sixteen grandchildren. This was very evident to everyone when her face would light up anytime the grandchildren were around. Over the years, Lucile served on many committees and boards including ND Farmers Union, ND State Bowling Association, and the Carrington Youth Center. She was also an active member of the Catholic Church and sang in the choir on Sundays and other special occasions. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a kidney donor for her son Neil.
Lucile is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bill Zink; her sister, Eileen Van Dyke; her brother, Lynn (Janice) Clancy; nine children: Billy Joe Zink, David (Tammy) Zink, John (Jena) Zink, Ron (Carol) Zink, Peggy (TJ) McDonald, Patti (Brad) Stedman, Brian (Karen) Zink, Neil (Dawn) Zink and Sheri (John) Hodnefield and sixteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers and one grandson.
Lucile was a great cook and always had food for whoever stopped by, so the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Great Plains Food Bank, 1720 3rd Ave N, Fargo, ND 58102 or

Interment will be held later this summer in Carrington, ND.
