Luci Spaeth Holte, 60, of Fargo, ND, died at her home on January 27th, at 2:50 am, with her children, family, and friends by her side.
Luci was born June 17, 1952 at the Ada Hospital, the fifth child of Gerard and Judy (Barrett) Spaeth. She graduated from Ada High School in 1970. Luci completed a science degree at Bemidji State College and a Nursing Degree at St. Lukes School of Nursing. On June 6, 1980 she began her employment at St. Lukes as a cardiac nurse and continued working for now Sanford (Day Unit), until her illness prevented it in October, 2012
Besides her love for her children, family and friends, nursing was Luci’s passion. Her love and commitment to her patients, included knitting hundreds of chemo hats to be donated to the patients at Roger Maris. Luci loved dancing, playing golf and working in her yard. She also enjoyed softball, bowling, playing Pinochle, and reading.
Luci married Perry Holte on November 28, 1981.
Luci is survived by her children, Tara Zundel, Chris Holte, and Andrew Holte, all of Fargo, ND; step-daughter, Jessica (Holte) McCombs and her children, Kaylee and Naomi; sisters, Deborah (Ron) Mickelson, Pamela Gordon; Rebecca (Gary) Guida; and brother, Gerard Spaeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tage Backen; Perry Holte; and brother-in-law, Loren Gordon.
Luci and her family have requested that her memorials be given to the Luci Spaeth Holte Nursing Scholarship Fund at Sanford Health, 801 4th St. N., Fargo, North Dakota, 58102.
