Lowell Sidney Boe was born on February 8, 1956 to Cecelia and Sidney Boe in Rolla, ND. He attended grade school in Perth, ND and high school in Bisbee, ND. He attended North Dakota State University (NDSU), graduating in 1978 with a degree in agricultural and manufacturing engineering.
On June 3, 1978, Lowell married Vanessa Baerwald in Rolette, ND. Shortly after their wedding, Lowell and Vanessa moved to West Bend, WI, where Lowell worked for Gehl Manufacturing.
Lowell and Vanessa returned to North Dakota in 1979. Lowell worked for Rugby Manufacturing in Rugby, ND from 1979 – 2007, a total of 28 years. In 2007, Lowell and Vanessa moved to Woodbine, IA. Lowell worked for Tommy Gate Manufacturing in Woodbine, IA from 2007-2014, a total of 7 years.
In 2014, after 35 years of work, Lowell retired and moved to Fargo, ND to be closer to his family. Lowell and Vanessa have one son, Lucas Boe and one daughter, Jaclyn Frueh. Lucas and his wife Kelly live in Cedar Falls, IA. Jaclyn and her husband Jason live in Fargo, ND. Jaclyn and Jason Frueh have three beautiful children, Annika, Hailey, and Carson, Lowell’s grandchildren.
Lowell enjoyed life! He enjoyed spending time with family and friends visiting, playing cards, and laughing. He loved watching baseball, fishing, traveling, reading, and most especially playing with his grandchildren. Trips to the park, back yard croquette, playing games, and watching movies were some of their favorite activities.
Lowell was a man of strong faith in God. At the time of his passing he was at peace and in his words, “I am ready to go to my mansion in heaven to be with Jesus.”
Lowell is preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia Boe and his father-in-law, Gert Baerwald.
